Successful assessment of a mining project feasibility process.
A mining operator who already utilised Enthalpy’s Capital Investment System for business case development and investment decisions asked Enthalpy to carry out an Independent Peer Review of a brownfields expansion of an iron ore mine/rail/port system in North America.
Enthalpy’s review team completed assessment of the feasibility process including cost, schedule, implementation aspects to determine any gaps or fatal flaws.
The consulting team’s focus encompassed engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning plans for the project. The gap and closure recommendations highlighted some potential risks to a timely, safe and cost-effective project.
Enthalpy was subsequently asked to provide project controls process and procedures implementation coupled with project management of ongoing tender and contracts formation, engineering and construction through to commissioning.
